In Beta and rolling out to customers now, at no extra cost, is Agent Mode in Pendo.

Agent Mode is the agent-first user experience of Pendo. When you enter Agent Mode, you meet your new intelligent AI agent that can perform autonomous tasks on your behalf.  

You provide instructions through a conversational interface or pre-built template, and the agent uses logic to form plans and access the right Pendo data and tools through Model Context Protocol (MCP) to produce results. It then follows up with strategic questions to improve your results. 

You’ll also see proactive trends, alerts, and suggestions in Agent Mode to help you know where to start. Agent Mode is constantly monitoring everything connected to Pendo, keeping you informed of potential issues or opportunities. 

Agent Mode gives you fast, reliable insights without compromising your privacy. It only uses the data already available in your Pendo account. Sensitive data like raw event streams, HR, financial, or health information is never accessed. Agent Mode is also read-only, meaning it cannot change or write anything in your Pendo environment. Your prompts and responses aren’t stored beyond the active session, and no customer data is ever used to train or fine-tune models. While Agent Mode can occasionally return incorrect or overly confident answers (a limitation of all AI systems), safeguards like PII redaction, RBAC, encrypted data handling, and continuous oversight help ensure insights remain secure, transparent, and actionable. 

Users can switch between Agent Mode and classic Pendo and at times use them together. We’re seen Agent Mode push users forward fast, in two very distinct ways.

Agent Mode was originally designed as a partner for our most advanced users. A co-pilot analyst that never sleeps, it’s constantly looking out for issues as you’re digging into data. The best product teams prioritize with ease and know what to solve based on data. But having to wait for an analyst to run numbers or digging for insights and then building reports all take too long in the age of AI. Agent Mode is your path to insights and speed.
